Highlights from the 2022 Awards Gala

Thank you to everyone who came together to make the 2022 CoachArt Gala a huge success!

On November 15, 2022, the CoachArt community was able to gather together in person for the first time in three years. Sponsors and guests donated $1,812,960 to support free arts and athletics programs for kids impacted by chronic illness.

We’re incredibly grateful to our Title Sponsor for the event – The Mark Cuban Foundation who led CoachArt’s annual fundraising for the 2nd straight year (and who formed a major basis of support along with the Dallas Mavericks as a Major Sponsor and Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall and her husband Kenneth as Silver sponsors). Our generous Champion Sponsors are a mix of board members and ardent supporters but the one thing they have in common is they are all major influences in the tech sector – Alex & Chris Britt, Sheryl Sandberg, Kristin Vogelsong & Zander Lurie, and Eric Yuan.

More than 350 generous guests attended at the San Francisco Design Center to celebrate the best of CoachArt’s past year. For our first truly hybrid event, we also welcomed an online audience from across the country to watch a live stream of the in-person show, hosted by our new Creator-In-Residence, Zach Angeles.

The program for the night featured an inspiring collection of stories and remarks delivered by our lineup of 2022 award recipients, including:

Heart & Humanity Champion
Hayden Brown, President & CEO of Upwork (see our profile of Hayden here)

Activity of the Year
CoachArt student Nipur & her coach Ruby Barrios

Match of the Year
CoachArt student Zoe & her coach Steph Langnas

As we look ahead to 2023, our goal is to continue the growth in CoachArt lessons for a 5th straight year – in order to make even more stories like Nipur & Ruby’s and Zoe & Steph’s possible.

With that in mind, we were excited to give a first glimpse of CoachArt’s 2023 Impact Fund, which will fund the cost of equipment and volunteer training for all the lessons we provide next year. We’ll be announcing more about that on the blog soon….

Thank you again so much to everyone who supports these programs individually, and of course to our amazing sponsors as well!
